It was incredibly humbling to hear these moms share what discourages them most when they go shopping. Whether they feel like they are too short to wear maxi dresses or only wear printed tops to draw attention away from their bottoms, Jene helped each woman find a piece that worked for their bodies and made them feel incredible.
Here are some tips she shared that I thought could be applicable for any woman who likes to shop and look their best in what they wear!
Jene dressed Long Island mom, Melissa, in a flattering all-over print maxi dress from Old Navy that featured a draw string to help cinch her waist and break up the often boxy appearance the look can produce.

I personally love this coral maxi from Splendid for it’s snug fit in the torso and surprising slip:
Surprisingly [well, I guess it’s not that surprising], one of the moms’ biggest concerns was not appearing to be a “skanky mom” when they venture out of the house in shorts this summer. Jene offered options with longer hemlines, like these True Religion jean shorts and these Sunkissed Shorts from Gap.
I’m no where close to being a mom yet… so when I look for longer, more conservative shorts I want to incorporate an element of fun and edge just like these leather shorts from Rachel Zoe:
Or I’ll keep it loose and classy with my recent obsession of silk shorts. My mom just recently sent me this Sandro Passepasse Silk Combo Short and I can’t wait to wear them:
